Sound familiar?
Not sure where your contract actually sits?
IR35 is one of those areas contractors know they should have sorted — and most do not. A status determination sitting in a drawer unsigned is not the same as a status determination that holds up. And if HMRC look back and decide you have been inside IR35 while operating outside it, the tax bill arrives with interest. The uncertainty is the problem, and it compounds the longer it sits.
- No clear, written determination of whether your contract sits inside or outside IR35
- An accountant who files your returns but has never actually reviewed your contracts
- Tax structure set up once at incorporation and never revisited since
What properly handled looks like
Each contract gets reviewed. Your status is confirmed in writing. Your Ltd company compliance, Corporation Tax, and salary and dividend structure are kept current — and if something changes in your working arrangements, you have someone to call who already knows your position.
- Written IR35 determination for each contract, reviewed when the terms change
- An accountant who reads your contracts, not just your year-end figures
- Salary and dividend structure reviewed regularly — not set and forgotten
- Fixed fee agreed before any work starts — no surprises on the invoice
What contractors say about working with Joey
A small number of clients, all handled personally. These are the kinds of problems that tend to get solved when someone actually answers the phone.

Joey was super helpful, took care of everything and saved me money on my Self Assessment. Communicated everything throughout. I will be using his services again. Would definitely recommend.
What the fixed fee covers for contractors
Every contractor engagement includes IR35 support alongside the standard compliance work — not as an add-on, but as part of understanding how your business actually operates.
IR35 Status Reviews and Compliance
Each new contract is reviewed before you sign and your IR35 position confirmed in writing. If your working arrangements change — new client, new terms, new role — that triggers a fresh review. You do not carry an unexamined status determination.
Included as standardLtd Company Accounts and Corporation Tax
Year-end accounts prepared and filed, Corporation Tax computed and submitted. Your salary and dividend split is structured to reflect your actual position, including your IR35 status across active contracts. Straightforward for outside IR35; adapted for inside where required.
Fixed fee, filed on timeOngoing Contractor Support and Tax Planning
Bookkeeping kept current on Xero, VAT returns submitted quarterly if in scope, and Corporation Tax liability visible well before the deadline. Questions about a new contract, a gap between engagements, or a rate negotiation get answered the day you ask.

What makes the difference for IR35 contractors
IR35 is a nuanced area where the detail matters. What follows is what makes working with Joey different from a general-purpose accountancy firm.
Contracts Reviewed, Not Just Filed
Most accountants process your returns. Fewer actually read your contracts and advise on your IR35 position before you sign. Joey reviews the terms, considers the working practices, and gives you a written determination you can rely on — not a verbal opinion that evaporates later.
Available When Contractors Are Free
Most contractors cannot take calls between client engagements during the working day. Joey is available from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday — phone, WhatsApp, or email — and often Sundays when needed. If something urgent comes up mid-contract, you have someone to contact.
One Person, Every Time
Every client deals directly with Joey — no being passed to a junior, no ticket queue, no ‘a member of the team will be in touch’. The person who reviewed your last contract is the person who answers when you call about your next one.
Up and running in four straightforward steps
Most contractors are onboarded within a week. The paperwork is minimal on your side — switching from an existing accountant is handled for you.
Free initial call or message
Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp, or email. You will talk through your current setup — Ltd company or sole trader, inside or outside IR35, how many active contracts — and whether it is a good fit. No pressure, no commitment, and if it is not right, Joey will say so.
Fixed quote, in writing
After the call you receive a fixed fee covering everything agreed — IR35 support, accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT if applicable. No hourly billing. No charge for a quick question. You know the number before any work starts.
We handle the switch
If you have an existing accountant, Joey contacts them, retrieves your records, updates HMRC authorities, and sets up Xero. You sign one form. The admin that makes switching feel like a project is taken off your plate.
Ongoing support — no chasing
From here, your contracts are reviewed as they come in, your books are kept current, and your returns are filed well before deadline. Questions get answered the day you ask. Your tax liability is visible months before it is due — which is, frankly, the way it should work.
“Joey always delivers a professional and efficient service. Highly recommend to everyone!”
Things contractors usually ask before getting started
Do you actually review IR35 status, or just file the accounts?
Both. IR35 status reviews are included as part of the engagement — not treated as an advisory add-on. Each contract is reviewed with reference to the key IR35 indicators: substitution, control, and mutuality of obligation. You receive a written determination, and if your working arrangements change, that triggers a fresh review rather than relying on a position formed when you first incorporated.
What does an IR35 contractor package actually cost?
Fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any work starts. The figure depends on what is in scope — Ltd company accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT, payroll, and the number of contracts to be reviewed. There is no hourly rate and no charge for asking a question. After the initial call, you receive a written quote covering everything.
I have been operating for a couple of years and my books are not in great shape. Can you still take over?
Yes, and it is a reasonably common starting point. If records are incomplete or have not been properly maintained, Joey will carry out a catch-up exercise first — the cost of which is included in the written quote before work begins. Once that is done, everything moves forward on a clean basis. You do not need to arrive with tidy books.
Is there a long-term contract or minimum term?
No minimum term. You are not locked in. If it is not working for any reason, you give notice and you leave with your records, your Xero data, and nothing outstanding. In practice, around 90% of clients stay year on year — but that is the choice, not a clause.
What happens if I receive an IR35 determination from an end client placing me inside?
That changes how you should be operating and what tax you owe — and it needs to be looked at properly, not ignored. Joey can advise on whether the determination is well-founded, what your options are, and how to structure things correctly if you are inside IR35 for that engagement. It is a situation that comes up, and it is manageable when handled promptly.
How far in advance will I know what my Corporation Tax bill is going to be?
With books kept current on Xero throughout the year, your tax liability is visible well before the year-end — not as a surprise figure that arrives with a filing notification. Most clients have a clear picture of their Corporation Tax position two to three months before the deadline, which gives time to plan around it.
